Ronin lost his parents in a house fire at an early age and was put into foster care where he had trouble fitting in because he felt like he was always different from the other children and because of this was moved around to many homes. When he couldn’t take it anymore he ran away and lived on the streets fighting to survive. That was until one night he found shelter in a church, it was there that the priest knew that Ronin was special and offered the young boy a chance to become something more and belong somewhere. 

 

Ronin accepted the man’s offer and was thrown into the world of the Guardians and their fight against The Darkness and protecting the Children of the Light. Ronin quickly proved himself to be a very skilled Guardian having the ability to foresee events and master the Guardian skill of being able to tell the difference between a human and a creature. Ronin met and fell in love with a fellow Guardian, Lillian, they were fated together as soulmates, something very rare to happen between two Guardians. 

 

But Ronin was kidnapped and influenced by an Archdemon to do The Darkness bidding and ended up killing Lillian without knowing it, which gave The Darkness the ability to kill the Child of the Light at the time. Ronin lived with that guilt every single day and still has the same nightmare about it every single night. Ronin is James’s Guardian and was tasked to find the second Child of Light, Sara, but in his task to do so he ran into Lilian who was supposed to be dead and is currently protecting Sara even though she doesn’t know it. She seemed to not know who Ronin was at all.
